London has a Low Emission Zone, which might come as a surprise to those of you who experience the poor air quality in London. It is one of the most polluted places in Europe, according to air quality monitoring. The European Union has an air quality standard which forbids the exceeding of certain levels of pollution for more than thirty five days and London regularly exceeds this.
