Good men and women die every day. Their loved ones mourn and remember them but for those who are famous there is a rapid lament and they are forgotten. Mark Anthony claimed that the evil that men do lives after them and the good is oft interred with their bones. Mark Anthony lied.
People are usually a mixture of good and evil who commit both good acts and evil acts. What happens after they die is that those who are mostly good tend to be remembered as better than they were and those who were mostly evil tend to be remembered as worse than they were.
At the end of the day there is night and when our lives are remaindered there are memories distorted by an attempt to précis lives and simplify them. That is the fate of all eulogy.
