I heard a recording of an old gentleman this morning on the radio. The recording was made several years ago, when the gentleman was 105 years old. He had fought in the Great War, which started a hundred years ago. The gentleman has now died, but he talked of the boys that died. “There were thousands of young boys killed for nothing”. He said that there was no need for wars. There is no need for wars.
It is a dreadful thing to do something for which there is no need which destroys so many lives. Lives are created by love and war ends what love creates using hatred, greed and fear, those most irrational of human emotions.
