Slaves to Your Wealth

There have been many great fortunes created since the millennium began. I suppose we should congratulate those who have made great fortunes, but forgive me if I am less than congratulatory. Balzac said that behind every great fortune stands a great crime. I am not sure if that applies to most great fortunes but I expect that it applies to the vast majority of them.

Defining a great fortune is not easy. We can count in different currencies and commodities and instruments, and we no longer count in millions but in billions.

But it seems to me that those who have good fortune to acquire a great fortune, become salves to their wealth.

  1. I have always maintained that true wealth is not ever measured in money Robert.

  2. We all create the poor of this world when we expect to become richer by the sweat of the innocents.
In my humble opinion, we will live and die by the things we create under our own sweat.
