Summer is almost gone

August has more than half passed and summer is almost gone. Soon we will feel the winter coming on. August is a strange month; for the youngster in England it is the time when the long school holiday is vanishing quickly, when the hot weather turns to warm and work looms. For old folk August is a comfortable time, when it is not too hot and we can enjoy the cultivation of the garden. It is the time for summer romances of youth, and the time when those youth who are alone and without romance feel lost in themselves.

The sun in May starts to heat up our land but by August the sun is weaker and the heat slowly but inevitably leaves the land. It will be a cold December. There is not yet a cold wind in August. It may never come, but autumn will come and then colder winds will blow.
