A Jubilee Parade

I walked from Queen Anne Street, down Bond Street towards the Mall, hoping to have some sight of the Jubilee Parade. I was early enough to expect to get a poor vantage point somewhere on the Mall where I would have to wait for nearly three hours to see some of a  parade pass me by. I am not a Royalist but thought that having paid my share of the festivities for the Diamond Jubilee, and living in London, I might as well glimpse some of the Carriage Procession and the soldiers and bands marching alongside even though rain threatened. I had been watching the earlier festivities and events on television, but the presentations were so inane that I thought I would rather let me own eyes go where they will and avoid the inanities of celebrities rounded up by the BBC to offend my ears with flattery and obsequiousness.
