Fuel cell cars – what are the environmental risks?

Honda is building 200 hydrogen cars which it will sell in California. These cars will use hydrogen by passing it through a fuel cell. The cell will mix the hydrogen with oxygen to generate electricity. The electricity will power the car and the by product will be water, which will be emitted from the exhaust, rather than the existing mix of poisonous carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide that is emitted from petrol and diesel engines.
