Yesterday at the Old Bailey, London’s most senior criminal court, two men were convicted of the murder of a young man eighteen years ago. The murdered youngster was Stephen Lawrence and his name has become famous and the case a cause celebre. The reaction of almost everyone to the convictions has been one of relief. Justice, it is being said, for Stephen Lawrence has finally been obtained. (more…)
