Diesel Prices Rise

Most of the food and goods that we buy from the shops gets to the shops from where they are made, grown or imported, by lorries powered by diesel fuel. Diesel now (February 2012) costs a motorist or haulier £1.43 ½ a litre which is a record high. Since 2008 prices for diesel have increased by 25% in money terms and 12% in real terms, after inflation has been taken into account. Diesel is mostly made from oil and oil prices are on the rise and are expected to continue to rise for the next few months. (more…)
