Scaring the children is a way of controlling them to do what you want them to do.
Tell them that if they do something wrong something very bad will happen has been used by parents and teachers probably since children began. Governments also have a way of scaring their employers, the people, and here are some examples
- 750,000 are on the US “watch list”. These are people whom the Federal Government has reason to suspect of being involved in some kind of terrorist or criminal activity. 750,000 is a big number; it makes us scared of terrorism even though in all probability fewer than a handful of people likely to attempt to enter the USA are involved in terrorism.
- If you do not protect yourself by having nuclear arms, something bad will happen to you. The concept of a nuclear deterrent basis itself on a belief that nations are led by rationale humane leaders. There is little evidence for such belief.
- If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to lose. This is not true. You have your privacy which will be lost and more than likely your freedom.
- These are very bad men. This is the usual description of people held in prison without trial or held in prison after an unjust trial.
Scaring the children is a way of controlling them to do what you want them to do. Scaring the people is a way of controlling them to do what you want the people to do.
