Sometimes governments make a sensible suggestion but somehow the words that are used, the formulae, and the way a suggestion may be announced can make it seem that the suggestion is ludicrous. They can equally make ludicrous suggestions which seem sensible at the time. The governed suffer because whether something is sensible or ludicrous can only be ascertained after the event, with the wisdom of hindsight, because we mostly see though a glass darkly. (more…)
