Global warming is a curious phenomenon. Generally the whole planet is warming but heat can be displaced by the effects of air and sea oscillations that bring cold when you do not expect cold and heat when you do not expect heat. Some of the oddest effects of the climate change the planet is experiencing occur not on the surface of the planet where we live but in the stratosphere above the flight of commercial aircraft.
